Tucker and His Cars
In the years after the Second World War a man named Preston Tucker created an idea for an automobile that was perfect for the post-war, suburbia-living, workingman. During his time as an entrepreneur he faced many of the challenges of creating a brand new automobile company in an oligopoly. Three major companies known as the "Big 3" ruled the automobile industry. Tucker faced all the challenges possibly known by any businessman and did fail to become successful due to these challenges.
In the beginning Preston faced all the tasks of starting his company. He was trying to enter an industry controlled by a few major companies; or an oligopoly. The startup costs for Tucker were incredible. The laws of economics required creating a demand for the car of his dreams. He had created a car that all people would want to drive. He revolutionized the designs of cars today...
