Norwhal Whale

The Narwhal Whale, or scientifically Monodon Monoceros,it is known to be called the unicorn whale. It was named in 1758. It lives in the Artic Ocean. Narwhals prefer various areas. They prefer to live in the coldest waters. Narwhals are normally found in waters packed with ice. In the spring they migrate north following the ice. In the summer mouths ice dispersal causing Narwhals to head for inlets. They are found in deep bays and fjords during this time. When the ice begins to form again the Narwhals move south and remain in icy waters. They end up around the waters of Davis Strait and Disko Island. The eastern Canadian Arctic and Northwest Greenland is the home of the largest population of Narwhals.
