Physical comedy, also better know as slapstick, is an effective tool to add to a characters personality. Not only is it humorous to an audience, but is also a more interesting way to tell a story. Similar to Charlie Chaplin, the character Guido in Life is Beautiful played by Roberto Benigni uses comical expression, as well as the addition of humorous language to capture and keep the viewers attention throughout the movie. The slapstick genre of this film is really shown in Guido's early encounters with Dora and during the concentration camp with his son Giosue.
