"Davis proposed students spend at least 30 hours in community service in order to graduate," states the article "Give Something Back" from the San Jose Mercury News. The article states that community service would provide a richer experience and would show students a bit of reality. In my opinion, it would just bring way too much stress on a student to add another requirement for graduation. I don't believe high school students should be required to complete 30 hours of community service in order to graduate.

Community service should not be required because it takes up too much time. Students already have too many things to do. Whether they play sports or in a club, community service would get in the way. Almost everyone says that high school is one of the most fun and best experiences of our lives; it shouldn't be ruined with having to do free work...
