Religion was one of the key ideas that defined who people are during the time of Elizabeth I and Isabella I. A country must define a national religion if they wanted to unite and become powerful. Although Queen Elizabeth was a passive ruler and Queen Isabella ruled aggressively, the two women both controlled their own empire very well.
