The autobiography Night, written by Elie Wiesel, takes place during the Holocaust. The story is about a boy named Elie Wiesel and his father who experienced the tragedies of many concentration camps. In the beginning of the book, Elie and his father, named Chlomo, were severed from their family on the initial judgment day at the camp. Throughout the ordeal, Chlomo was a father to Elie. Chlomo initially played a father-like role in Elie's life, but later he changed to acting similar of an infant, which changed the roles.
In the beginning of the book, Chlomo lead his son Elie through his decision- making processes. Chlomo gives his son advice about rationing his food. Also to illustrate this, Elie's father tells him to save food, Chlomo said to Elie, "You don't want to eat it all at once. Tomorrow's another day . . ...(41)."
