The People
Most of the people of Morocco are Muslims, and their language is Arabic. Many are distantly related to the invaders who first came form the Arabian Peninsula during the century. Before the invasion of the Arabs the people living in Morocco were Berbers. The life of the Berbers was greatly changed by the Arab invasion. From the Arabs the Berbers adopted the Muslim religion and learned to speak and write the Arabic language. Both the Berbers and the Arabs are light skinned peoples.
