In the novel I Am David by Anne Holm, the responder can see that David changes and grows in many ways throughout the book. Firstly, he changes emotionally by the way he feels about people being evil and how he feels about his God.

Secondly, he changes socially by the way he learns to communicate and forms relationships. Lastly David grows physically by learning how to smile and how his appearance changes when he becomes aware of what he looks like.

David experiences emotional change when his feelings about all people being evil are altered by Sophie and she treats him with kindness he realizes that now all people are evil.
