This issue has become highly controversial in recent years, as it has been legalised in Holland while relatives are being imprisoned in this country for helping their loved ones to die. These high profile cases have allowed us to see the distinct gap between those who believe that a person has the right to end their lives if they are in pain and those who believe that euthanasia is a last resort of an uncaring society.
