The Lusitania
Summary: Analyzes the sinking of the Lusitania in 1915. Argues that Germany was within its rights when sinking the ship.
In the year of 1915, Germany made the decision to use unrestricted submarine warfare. At the same time, Americans were outraged that their ships were being torpedoed down out of nowhere by German submarines, especially after the sinking of the Lusitania in May of the same year. The Lusitania was a passenger ship with more than one-hundred Americans aboard it. Although, if they had thought in a military point of view, they would have noticed that Germany was being quite ethical in their wartime policies.
How can nations fight a war if they tell their enemies what they will do next?
