People in our society today have weakened their ability to resist drugs, whether it is because of peer pressure, problems at home or school related stress. Because of the mind-altering effects these drugs possess, people slowly become dependent. Once they have become addicted it is, of course, not easy to quit. When their world revolves around what they are addicted to, such as marijuana, they miss out on a lot of important things in life.
When a person is on drugs they usually don't try to succeed. They are blinded by the effects of it and can't understand what they are missing out on. If they were to get off of it they could see the more important things in their life.
