Factors That Helped the Growth of European Imperialism
There were many things that motivated Europe to begin conquering new territory. Certain nations wanted to expand their empire and search for new lands that could bring raw materials and development of trade ports. Other nations might have wanted to help modernize underdeveloped countries. Nations that may have been in need of money, trade routes, and raw materials and forced labor may have helped their economic stature. New technology resulting from the Industrial Revolution helped nations modernize and imperialize other nations. Power was another important key of Imperialism. Nations such as Britain wanted power over other less developed nations. Whatever their reasons, European nations had a variety of motives for imperializing other countries.
