Summary: Compares and contrasts the Han and Roman civilizations. Describes similarities in intellectual arts, religion, family structure, and economics.
The emperor, Liu Bang, who took the title of Gao Zu created powerful fundamentals for the Han civilization, which lasted from 206 B.C. to A.D. 220. The Roman civilization, on the other hand, began in 31 B.C. when Augustus had just been declared princeps, or first citizen. Even though the Han and Roman civilizations were different in various aspects, they also shared a number of similarities in the following categories: intellectual arts, religion, family structure, and economics.

Despite their differences, both the Roman and Han civilizations shared many things in common. Some of these things included intellectual arts, religion, family structure, and economics. In the category of intellectual arts they both exceeded in engineering, built roads, bridges, harbors, and immense aqueducts. They also emphasized grandeur, and had big palaces and temples as well.
