Starting in the Italian city of Florence because of their tremendous wealth earned from the banking system, the wave of revival spread to the rest of Europe. The Renaissance had four main causes. First of all, the Renaissance was influenced by the growing commercial and financial development. It was also affected by the growing political power of self governing city states. Thirdly, the Renaissance was influenced by the growing population. Lastly, values and beliefs of the people were spread through the development of the movable type.
