Summary: Explores how Christians may put their beliefs into action with respect to the environment. Discusses the Christian relationship with Greenpeace.
In the Christian (Xian) faith, the importance of Xians looking after the environment around them is essential. In Psalms it says "You (God) appointed him (mankind) ruler over everything you made", and rather than take this to mean that humans have `control' over other animals and use them as we desire, most Xians take this to mean that they have a responsibility to look after the environment and to have a `stewardship' role. The natural world is God's creation and Xians believe they should try and protect this creation as much as possible. There are many problems that Xians might be concerned with such as pollution, global warming, endangered species, animal rights or use of recycling. Most Xians would see it as humankind's role and responsibility to try and get involved with these issues and more to help the environment.
