As great leaders have come and gone in different eras, all of them understood that along with their authority came grave responsibility. Such was the case with our twenty-eight president, Woodrow Wilson. President Wilson had to undergo more trying and unusual circumstances than any other preceding president because of the country's rising involvement in foreign relations and the First World War. As Wilson's views and thoughts were brought into the light of the American public, he always fought for what he thought was best for America regarding foreign policy. During his tenure, many historians and politicians have argued whether Wilson's views were either realistic or idealistic. Wilson's actions and decisions have led people to believe that he was in fact both a realist and an idealist. However, when taking into consideration Wilson's true ambitions and visions for the world, Wilson's views were clearly idealistic.
