The Italian Contribution to America

From about 1899-1910 an immense amount of Italian immigrants settled in the United States of America in search of a better life. While in the United States of America they have made tremendous contributions to its economy, politics, business, culture etc.
As part of their contributions to the United States of America's economy, they were the ones responsible for the railroads we see today. They dug out canals and paved roadways for transporting goods. They made reservoirs and dams for generating electric power. They mined for coal and iron and they manned the steel furnaces. They also built aqueducts, office buildings, and houses. Wherever there was hard work that needed to be done, the Italian Immigrants were almost certain to be there.
