Comparing Imagery and Rehearsal for Memorising Paired Associates
An experiment was conducted with the aim to find which technique of memorising was more efficient, rehearsal or imagery. It was found that imagery of paired nouns produced a higher amount of those words recalled when compared to the amount recalled when using repitition. Results were obtained by giving one of the words to the participant and then asking for it's pair. It was concluded that imagery was a better mode of remembering, although it should be noted that there were uncontrolled variables within the experiment.
