One of England's greatest poets, john Keats was a key element in the Romantic Movement. John Keats was born on October 31, 1795, on the northern outskirt of London. In 1804, his father was thrown from a horse and died of a skull fracture. The following year, Keats grandfather died. Three years later, in 1808 his mother appeared ill with tuberculosis. In 1810 she died. This created a very strong impact on Keat.By 1819 he was showing signs ob T.B. it was during this period, near the end of his life, that Keats created some of his poetry, which put him amongst the great English poets. "To autumn" which I considered by many to be his mot perfect poem is often referred to as an Ode. It was written on a Sunday afternoon in Winchester on 19 September 1819.
