The Sentry, An Analysis
Summary: Analyzes the poem The Sentry by Wilfred Owen. Examines how the poem describes the reality of war.
As I read the poem "The Sentry" by Wilfred Owen, I realized that it was about what men are put through during the war and how much they risk their lives to defend their country. This poem talks about a sentry who is injured while fighting during the war and how he ends up dying in the end. The man who helps the injured sentry tried to comfort him but get's distracted and forgets about him. He instead goes to find help for the sentry. In the end the sentry dies while thinking he's not blind anymore because he say's he sees the light but it's heavens light and not his fellow soldier's light.
I find that the poem indicates the amount of death and corruption the soldiers must face when at war. Many men die and few come back alive and I agree with the character named...
