Othello: A Character Study of Cassio
We don't hear too much of Cassio, but he plays a crucial part to this story. His integrity is tested when the evil Iago accuses him of an affair with Othello's beloved wife, Desdemona.
The relationships Cassio has with the other characters is the determining factor for which way this play finishes. He gets on with Othello at the beginning of the play, as he is his lieutenant, which is a high title on the island of Cyprus. Othello confides in him, but is wary as Cassio is an inexperienced soldier, who Othello saw trust in. When Cassio gets into a staged fight with Roderigo when he was supposed to be watching the city, Othello strips him of his title and over the course of the film, eventually vows he will not stop until Cassio is dead.
