Summary: Reviews Democracy in the Balance, by journalist Bill Moyers. Analyzes Moyers' premise that America is becoming more diverse. Examines the future political direction of America.
There is no doubt that America is and is becoming more diverse. Although this is true, our current President has a very Christian agenda. It is also true that Americans are cultural imperialists. Taking land and its peoples to rule by force. Only the most cynical would say that is America's agenda today. However, Americans do want democracy in the world. We want our cooperation's to be strong and prosperous; unfettered by ideology throughout the world. One of the controversies going on in the world involving religion is the fact that Iran is about Christian versus Muslim but mostly it is a war for democratic ideals and against terrorism. This is an example of how God and religion can lead to war and death, just like the story of Cain and Abel.
