What Is Important to Me

So many things are important to young adults today. Sports, religion, family, and friends are just a few. However, one of the most important things to me is educating youth about alcohol and drugs. Nevertheless, I believe that while prevention education is important, it should not be the only thing taught. Children do not necessarily respond to "Do not do drugs, do not drink...it is bad for you." More children respond to learning about WHY it is bad for you. They need to know how drugs can cause brain damage, how alcohol can give you liver problems, and the harmful effects of tobacco products.
