A Close Personal Examination
Summary: Provides a comprehensive self-examination. Describes how, using a few tools, one can learn about oneself.
The fact that people differ from each other is obvious. How and why they differ is less clear and is an important part of the study of personality. Personality psychology addresses the questions of human nature, individual differences, and unique patterns of individuals. Research in personality can range from analyses of genetics and biological systems to the study social, ethnic, and cultural bases of thoughts, habits, feelings, and behavior. Personality research includes studies of human tendencies, interpersonal styles, and emotional reactivity. Using the tools given, I was not just able to learn about myself. I was able to tune into my learning, thinking, expressive and perceptual feelings, style, and emotions. They presented to me a self-portrait that I found to be accurate.
