Singapore's Separation from Malaysia

The PAP advocated social revolution. Merger of Singapore and Malaysia would bring about economic progress as well as political stability, economic modernization, and even social modernization,
The Alliance (UMNO, MCA and MIC) was content with social evolution. Its was more concerned with stability, security and predictability. (more conservative)
Both the 1963 and 1964 elections provided opportunities for bitter rivalry between the Malayan and Singapore political parties.
