He also gave the book this title in order to portray the main themes, which are the main character's expectations. It also can be said that the title implies the emotional events experienced by every person in his/her lifetime. Every person expects something at one point in his or her life, be it good or bad. However these expectations can lead to disappointment when what a person expects does not materialize.
