The View of Indian Americans on the U.S. Election
Summary: Examines the view of Indian Americans on the upcoming U.S. election. Describes how George Bush is paying special attention to India. Explores the democratic leanings of Indian Americans.
For every election Indian Americans have favored the Democrats over the Republicans. This year it will change, because today indian American citizens are well educatedd and many own small to medium sized businesses. Socialy all Indians prefer Democrats for their affirmative action issues. Recently the favoring has changed because of the Republicans having come forward to include the Indian American citizens in the mainstream, and the actions made by Governor McGreavy, along with his dishonesty and profound endless corruptions has caused the Indian Americans in New Jersy to become unhappy with him. Also for the first time under Bush has India got special attention from the U.S. and is considered an allie, this makes the Indian Americans feel better that the two countries are finally friends. When it comes to the economic and tax standpoint, and when it come to fighting contemporar terrorism and extremism Indians will support Bush. What the Indians consider is the negative side of Bush is that he sends too many jobs to India, which the Indians want to stay in the U.S. and not go to India because their children are second-generation immigrants, and they have been growing up in the U.S. for most of their life. The Democrats recently have lost a lot of supporters among the Indian Americans, because of corruption, which is one of the main reasons. Another reason is the aggressive campaigning by the republicans in including Indian Americans with their causes. Indians are generally religious conservatives, and do not support homosexual behavior or abortion. But they also respect individual rights and respect for every human being as a free person. Democrats would have gotten a whole lot more votes but the support for India from the last Democratic president,Bill Clinton, was passive. Also what Kerry will do with Pakistan is not known which makes another reason for losing Indian votes. Indian American do not like George Bush's pampering Pakistan, which is fundamentally a terrorist state, and not only that but Pakistan to India is like Palestien is to Isreal.
