Summary: Essay describes why it is necessary for law to be stable and yet evolve.
Since the beginning of civilization, law has played a momentous role in both defining and protecting the essential rights of an individual. From the Hammurabi of Babylon to Julius Caesar of Rome to Justinian of Byzantine, each great leader attempted to formulate a code of law in hopes of creating a systematic and secure society based upon the acceptable norms of his particular culture. However, as time progresses, the laws of a nation obsolesces and the need for remodeling becomes clear. Therefore, I believe a continuous evolution of legal standards is necessary to complement a dynamic status quo in a dynamic world.
