Why Did Hitler Become the Leader of Germany in January 1933

The Nazis did not do well in the elections between 1924 and 1928. Although Hitler reorganised the party to try to win power, he was not popular enough. The Nazis held meetings, rallies and marches. In 1926, Hitler appointed Joseph Gobbels the leader of the Nazis in Berlin. Gobbels helped to spread propaganda in Germany.
Hitler also quietly used force to increase his power. This was through 2 private armies, the SA and the SS. They wore uniforms and roam the streets. Many young people joined them for a small salary and a uniform to spread the Nazis ideas and to break up opposition meetings.
Hitler himself was an important reason why the Nazis gradually became popular. He was a great speaker and gave many speeches which convinced many Germans to support Nazism.
