Comparative Piece

Summary: Essay compares three different novels and finds similarities.
The three books that I chose to read for English are `Facetime', `The Other Side Of Dawn' and `The Song Of An Innocent Bystander'. I picked these 3 books because they are all written by Australian authors. While reading these books, it was very quickly apparent that all the authors were writing about teenagers' lives and how they handle certain situations. `Facetime' is written by Winnie Salamon, `The Other Side Of Dawn' is by John Marsden and `The Song Of An Innocent Bystander' is written by Ian Bone.

While I was reading these three books, I was very surprised at the amount of different stereotypes for teenagers there were. Salamon portrays teenagers as being sex driven animals, who will sleep with anything that smiles and has a heartbeat.
