It is unimaginable to try and picture what it would have felt like to be forced into captivity, separated from family and forced to leave your home for an unknown future. An early captive, who had escaped and returned to the camp, tried to warn the others. His stories were so brutal and inhumane that no one believed him. Information was scarce and inaccurate, the immediate future was unknown and feared.
