I think that one of the main points of this chapter was when Adam's father had put his arm around him. The reason this was a main point, is because this was the first sign of affection that Adam had ever gotten from his father. It also added another factor to when Moses died. Adam had just been getting to get along with his father and had just started to bond with him and I think that this made it even harder for Adam.
