How Adam Changed in Chapter Three of April Morning
Summary: Essay discusses how the character of Adam changed in chapter 3 of "April Morning."
Adam changed many ways in chapter 3. Many of these changes due to the decisions that he must make. Throughout the entire chapter there are hints that there will be a battle or a small fight. And even before I read it, I knew that Adam would need to prove to his father that he was a man, and not a boy.
Before chapter 3, I thought that Adam's father was not giving Adam a chance by not letting him go to the Committee meeting. However, I was very surprised that his father let him sign the muster book. I don't think that it was just going to the common that made Adam a man, but that he had the courage to sign the book. It shows that he had the courage to risk his life for his country.
