Women During War Made a Difference for Women Today

Women's role during the war changed the lives of women today because of the right to make careers, join the politics and vote. During the war women stayed at the home front and took over the jobs of men while they were abroad at the war. The government of Canada started to have a shortage of workers at home therefore women were called upon to take over the jobs. They started to work in factories, drive buses, and nurse at the hospitals. In factories, women got paid half the wages of men and the working conditions were at times dangerous and at times unhealthy. Before the war these jobs were strictly for men.
