Summary: Essay discusses the issue of gender equality and how it has become more equal over time.
Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Before I start my first point I would like to point out some of the flaws in the affirmatives case. The opposition would have you believe that families have a preference of a male child. Though this is just not true. Female children have the same love and attention payed to them as male children.
They also suggest that women receive less pay than men. Though the gap between men and women's earnings is not caused by discrimination, according to new research by Atec, 2003. Instead women choose jobs that pay less because they want more flexible and socially useful careers. In addition, Queensland's pay equity inquiry report was released in March 2001 and stated that the State IRC has given broad powers to ensure equal salary for men and women.
