Summary: Discusses the truth in the fact that charismatic leadership led to the rise of dictators such as Adolph Hitler.
"Charismatic leadership led to the rise of dictators." This is true to a small extent, as although charisma plays a major role, there are many other factors involved in the rise of a dictator than sole charisma. Hitler, for example, was a man of extraordinary charisma, but also was helped dramatically to his rise by many other factors. For example, the circumstances of the German economy, the huge amount of propaganda distributed and the tight organisational strengths of the Nazis. These factors together led to Hitler's rise as dictator in 1933.
Hitler was maybe one of the most charismatic leaders the world has ever seen. The timing, expression, posture, hand gestures and content of his speeches were extraordinary, and it is believed that he would stand infront of a mirror for hours practising these.
