Macbeth and Lady Macbeth Are Evil Characters Who Show No Remorse for Their Crimes
Summary: Essay discusses the idea that Macbeth and Lady Macbeth in "Macbeth" by William Shakespeare are evil characters and why I still have sympathy with them right until the end.
`Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are evil characters who show no remorse for their crimes.' I find myself very much in disagreement with this statement. I think to say that Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are evil is very one dimensional. In order to paint an accurate picture of each character I believe we have to look further than their actions and study them from the beginning of the play until the end.
Macbeth is introduced in this play as a brave warrior who has almost single-handedly saved Scotland in battle. He is thought of as, `Brave Macbeth' and `Noble Macbeth'.
The witches then appear to him hailing him as `King Macbeth'. I believe that the moment the witches appear to Macbeth his fate is out of his control and his downfall is inevitable.
