Egyptian religious practices played a significant role in the culture and society of the old kingdom. The religious beliefs of the Ancient Egyptians formed the fundamental value system of their everyday lives. The Egyptians of that time believed that there was a constant battle in the world between the forces of chaos and order. In order for the world to function normally, they believed there had to be a balance between the two.
