A Tragedy Brought By Fate
Romeo and Juliet is a famous love story, where time and fate lead to the tragedy of the two lovers. Their families have been enemies forever, but that doesn't stop them from loving each other. The Chorus introduces the power of fate in the prologue when we are told that Romeo and Juliet are "star-crossed lovers" (destined for bad luck) and "death-marked," and that their death will end their parents' feud. Furthermore their tragic death is brought on them because of their bad chance and haste.
Shakespeare begins the play by introducing that Romeo and Juliet are two "star-crossed lovers" where their fate brought them to a tragic end. Chance brings them together when Romeo goes to the feast and falls instantly in love with Juliet. Romeo even predicts that going to the feast will have a deadly ending.
