The Life and Works of Garret A. Morgan

Summary: This essay is about the life and works of Garret A. Morgan. From his birth in Paris, Kentucky, to his death in 1963.
It was about ten years after slavery had been abolished when Garret A. Morgan was born, March 4, 1877 to be exact. Morgan was born in Paris, Kentucky to former slaves, and spent his early childhood working on his family's farm with his brothers and sisters. Little did they know at the time that he would grow up to be a hero in the eyes of so many.

While Morgan was still a teenager he moved from Kentucky to Cincinnati, Ohio in search of better opportunity that was given to blacks in the north. Although Morgan never received a formal education passed elementary school he did hire himself a tutor in attempt to continue his studies of English grammar.

In 1895 he moved from Cincinnati, Ohio to Cleveland, Ohio where he began repairing sewing machines for a clothing manufacturer. When word got around of his ability to fix things and also...
