The Holocaust: Studying the History

There are many reasons behind why the Holocaust happened. First of all, Germany was in a state of depression. They had lost the war, inflation was huge, cities were in shambles, and people everywhere were starving. Citizens wanted a strong leader. Unfortunately, the leader they received was Adolf Hitler. Another reason the Holocaust occurred was because of hate. Hitler hated Jews, homosexuals, gypsies, anyone he believed to be "imperfect." This hate spread because people find it easier to give in and hate someone than to stand up for what they know is right. Finally, it occurred because of fear. People in Germany were afraid of Hitler; they were afraid for their lives, for their families, for their homes. Hitler knew this, and he used that knowledge to carry out everything he had planned for Germany.
