Vladek Spiegelman's journey and story can be described as one of the greatest Jewish holocaust survival stories of all time. It is through the book we see that his story is interesting and fascinating. However the book also shows who Vladek really was and what he had become after the war. It is debatable on whether Vladek cruel personality was caused by the war or it was caused by his natural upbringing. The essay below will discuss the two side on the debate.
