The world as it is stands to become grossly overcrowded in the near future. The effective use of contraception is one factor that will start to slow the rapid increase of the world's population. Many factors are present in causing such a high mean birth rate of the nations; this factor of contraception is, however, one of the easier ones to tackle.
As the science of human reproduction advances forward, the availability of reliable birth control also advances. Most modern societies in economically more developed countries (EMDC) have enough basic education to understand that in their society children are for leisure and family only. Also recognized are the facts that contraception is readily available, cheap, and that it is possible to easily prevent sexual intercourse from creating new life.
