He had had a lot of work to do for quite some time now, yet he could not charge much, because no one had money to give him. Cases were coming in from all over the surrounding French countryside. One such case, which Anton was working on personally, was Louis Rohan Vs. Marie Blum. Marie had been accused of stealing from her employer Louis, two sacks of potatoes to be exact. The poor crops of the 1780's had sent many peasants into a frenzy of crime, as it was the only way they could eat. Now it would seem that even in Paris, there was nothing to steal anyway.
