Summary: The Civil War
There were many battles in the Civil War. In any major war there are key
battles, which greatly influenced the outcome of the struggle. There were literally
hundreds of battles and skirmishes within the U.S. Civil War of 1861-1865. Here is a list
of the most important of the battles: the 1st battle of bull run, Shiloh, the 2nd battle of
bull run, Antietam, Gettysburg, Vicksburg, Sherman's march to the sea, and Appomattox.
In the following paper I am going to discuss the participants, the out comes, and the
consequences of each battle.
In the 1st battle of Bull Run the north or McDowell was against the south or Johnston. In the beginning of the battle the north and the south had close to the same amount of people, but then the south sent off for more soldiers and in that request he got more. Receiving more...
