Summary: Almost everything that is fundamentally American is a negative response to the Puritan experience.
Almost everything that is fundamentally American is a negative response to the Puritan experience. Puritans are generally stereotyped as dour, religious, dressed in black and seeming intent on spoiling everybody's fun. They will forever be linked to the Salem witch trials. American's are generally stereotyped as fun, fast food eaters who have a "pick a religion, don't like it, convert" attitude and dress in what best expresses their individuality or barely anything at all. Most everything that we call American is the opposite of what the Puritans wanted and believed and had it not been for the dissenters, there would be no America. What Americans believe today was created by rebellious outbursts in the Puritan Community.

The United States of America is based off many rules and laws. One of these is the separation of church and state. This means that religion and education shall not be combined...
