Immigration: A Lasting Effect on America
Summary: This essay presents the facts and negative apects of immigration to the United States.
Nearly 300 years ago many immigrants migrated to the United States to escape religious and political persecution. Over the years our great country has been coined the term "a melting pot", due to the large number of different races that are prevalent throughout the United States. Many immigrants seek our country because of the many new freedoms and benefits we have that their previous country did not. In response to this our country has had to set quotas on the number of people our country can accept, so that natives aren't affected by the immigrants.
As of now, our country allows 1.2 million immigrants a year from various regions of the world (Problems np). The government believes at this rate, our economy will continue to run efficiently and that the immigrants will not cause a large impact on the population. The facts that are present though, seem to prove otherwise...
