Effects of Software Piracy
Software piracy is the infringement of copyrights on software. Peder Jonsson states that "it is illegal to infringe the copyright law and can result in imprisonment and/or fines." (No pag.) Around the world, piracy has been a growing problem. What started with a few people sharing purchased disks is now millions of people getting software illegally with just a few key strokes. The damage software piracy inflicts only gets worse as technology develops, businesses are hurt and governments lose funding.
