Summary: This is about the book Hometown.
My book was called Hometown. It is a hard book to explain because it has about 50 different sub plots, but as you read the book there are specific themes. The book was largely about anti-war, which also ties into an isolation theme.

The book is based in the early nineties during the Gulf War. In one part of the book, the school holds a pro-war rally. The protagonist attends this school, so he has to go. Every one at the school believes that the war was a good idea. Every one but him.

His alienation from the town was even greater due to the fact that his dad was a draft dodger. I feel that the anti-war theme was used to portray a sense of alienation from the town. In fact many people who cant support a government run war. Every one wants to be patriotic especially during...
