Summary: Decribes how Andrew Martin develops from a robot to a dynamic human being in the story "Bicentennial Man" by Isaac Asimov.
In the story "Bicentennial Man" Andrew Martin develops from a robot to a dynamic human character. He gradually gains human qualities and abilities through scientific and technological advances. He is able to have a relationship, speak his mind, and live and experience the life of a human being while in reality, he is a robot. Physically Martin looks as though he is human, yet on the inside he is filled with wires and computers, which are programmed to move and act as a human being. As Martin acquires the ability to shed tears, taste food and hold an intellectual conversation, he takes a step closer to being human. Martin ultimately resembles a human being physically, mentally and emotionally, which therefore, makes it difficult to determine what he truly is.
When Martin develops his emotional side, he begins to show affection towards Elizabeth. He is aware of her beauty...
